Sysop and Main Menu

Hi Wauteurz, I love your new Main Page ! As you have seen I've moved it to a protected template and also made you a sysop so that you can have access to it. The Main page itself is only protected to autoconfirmed users so that people can edit the template. What do you think ? --SimonRyr, wiki admin (talk) 14:40, March 25, 2018 (UTC)

First of, thank you. I think it may be worthwhile to explain my intentions with the main page. Of course our goal is to attract new editors from all over the C:S Community, right? That's why I included the RV, which can at some point be automated using a bot and a template to show a set list of content creators affiliated with the wiki. It's a way for them to get their name out in the community, part of which may not know them or not watch them yet. The FA can be voted for monthly, twice per month or weekly and is a way to generate more traffic to get people involved more. An article may be submitted for a vote on a page that will be created for that purpose. A vote should at least include an article (duh) and a blurb (shown text). After being featured, a cool-down time of anywhere between three and twelve months. Gal shows articles that are relevant or have fallen into obscurity. Again, a voting process may be set up for this too. Likewise, a cool-down time would apply, this time of one to three months. OP shows a list of the aforementioned 'associates' and their ongoing project series.
I should add to this that I have no previous experience with setting up a bot for the processes listed above, but for now, I recon we'll be fine without one. Of course all of the above may be put up for debate if so desired.

Österland map

Hello! First of all, let me thank you for cleaning and improving Österland page I made. Now about the map... I would ask you to not changed it because you don't have the up to date map.

Thank you. —The preceding comment was added by Mark (talkcontribs)

Hello Mark, there's no need to thank me. I am the original creator of the Österland map. I've seen the differences between them and am aware of there being an updated version. I'll add the changes to the high res map and make a new export of it, granted that the place names on the updated version do have the community's approval. Thank you for the heads-up nonetheless :)

Also, as a sidenote: Cities in Österland is not a desirable page since it effectively is nothing more than a list, and I will merge its content into Österland at some point. I'd just like to know though, would you mind if I made some of the place names less Dutch and more German? These would be the following changes:
  • Harelmonde → Harelmünde,
  • Nieuwlo → Neuloo,
  • Terkerk → Zukirch,
  • Vlissingningen → Flasschingn.

I am not saying I made the map I am saying I created Österland wiki page. The map has been approved by Skibitth himself. You can change the cities name but change them in all places where they’re written and you’re right it would be better if you merge the cities list to the main page.
You didn't change the names on the other pages. And you did more changes to the map. Where were you for the past 5 months? I thought so... Nobody thought of making Österlnad page and when I decided to do it because nobody want it you come in and change everything. You also need to change the names of football clubs. So do it!
Mark, I only have so much time to my availability. As for where I was for the past five months: I was managing the back-end of this wiki, getting its name out there and aside from that, been living five more months of my life to the best of my abilities. I may not be as active in Skibitth's community as you or any of the other contributors, but I don't have to be an active part of any such communities to contribute to them.
Speaking as sys-op of this wiki, I'd like to emphasise that a wiki is a collaborative project. No-one is forced or supposed to do anything-- anyone is welcome to. There is nothing that makes me the one that "has" to change anything more than you. Speaking in forceful tones and pointing fingers such as you do here won't promote the collaborative effort and is, with lack of anything else to call it, toxic behaviour. Please consider this your first warning.
